Each apartment at Villa Palme has its very own view of beautiful Kvarner Bay along with views of the islands Krk and Cres. The city of Rijeka provides a stunning backdrop to Kvarner bay - an especially stunning sight to see during the evening hours. About Croatia and Opatija Situated below the mountain and Nature Park Učka, Opatija (old names: Sankt Jakobi, Abbazia) is a superb choice for a holiday in the summer and winter season. Climate in Opatija The climate in Opatija is a moderate Mediterranean one with mild winters and pleasant summers with continuous circulation of air and sea aerosol. The average air temperature in the summer is 21.9°C (71.4°F), and in the winter 7°C (44.6°F). The sea temperature in the summer can reach up to 26°C (78.8°F)! The area averages 2,000 hours of sunshine a year; a perfect place to work on your tan or mearly soak in the sun. 160 Years of Toursim Tourism first began in Opatija in 1844 when the leading citizen of Rijeka, a merchant called Higin Scarpa, built the Villa "Angiolina", and named it after his deceased wife. The Villa was soon visited by many of the merchant’s family friends and business partners, along with a number of other distinguished noblemen and noblewomen. Most notably, the Croatian Governor Josip Jelacic spent his holidays here with his wife in 1850. As too did the wife of Emperor Ferdinand I, Empress Mother Mary Ann, spent the entire balmy season here in 1860. Opatija, with its sheltered location, mild climate and green landscapes soon attracted the attention of the Vienna Southern Railway Company, which bought the Villa "Angiolina" from Count Chorinsky in 1882. In 1884, after only ten months of work on the property, the Railway Company opened the "Kvarner", the very first hotel of its kind in the eastern coast of the Adriatic. The event marked the beginning of a very dynamic and active building period in the region. Within the bedroom there is one king size bed and one twin size day bed. In the living room, there is a pull-out leather sofa comfortable enough to fit two adults and/or children. There is one enclosed bathroom that includes a shower. This apartment is located poolside. The living room leads directly out to the swimming pool area that overlooks the Kvarner Bay, the islands Krk and Cres, and the city of Rijeka. Apartment #2 Apartment number 2 includes one large bedroom with a king size bed and has one smaller bedroom that includes a twin size bed. The living room has a pull-out sofa that can accommodate two adults and/or children. The kitchenette within apartment 2 adjoins with the dining room, and there is one bathroom that includes a shower. This apartment is located on the ground floor next to the swimming pool area and overlooks onto Kvarner Bay, which includes views of the islands of Krk and Cres and the city of Rijeka. Apartment #3 Apartment number 3 has one large bedroom with a king size bed. The living room includes a pull-out sofa, comfortable enough for either two adults and/or children. The kitchenette includes a dining area, and there is one bathroom that includes a shower. This apartment is located on the ground floor next to the swimming pool and overlooks onto Kvarner Bay that includes a view of the islands of Krk and Cres and the city of Rijeka. Apartment #4 Apartment number 4 has one large bedroom with a king size bed. The living room drops down from the entryway and includes a pull-out sofa for two adults and/or children. The kitchenette adjoins with the dining area. There is one bathroom that includes a shower. This apartment has a large terrace overlooking the Kvarner Bay, which includes a view of the islands of Krk and Cres, and the city of Rijeka. Apartment #5 Apartment number 5 includes two large bedrooms, each with a king size bed. The living room includes two pull-out sofas and a kitchenette with a dining area. There is one bathroom that includes a shower. This apartment is located on the second floor and has a balcony with a massive private terrace overlooking the Kvarner Bay, the islands which includes a view of Krk and Cres and the city of Rijeka. Apartment #6 Apartment 6 is located on the second floor and includes two large bedrooms, each with a king size bed. In the living room, there are two pull-out sofas for extra guests. The kitchenette includes a dining area, and the single bathroom within this apartment includes a shower. This apartment also has a breakfast nook that includes a small table with chairs. The balcony has a massive terrace. Both the balcony and the breakfast nook overlook the Kvarner Bay, which includes a view of the islands Krk and Cres, and the city of Rijeka.
