Property Description

The holiday center is located on the shore of the beautiful, deserted Pöyliöjärvi, near the center of Kemijärvi. On the farm located at the site of the holiday village, accommodation has been practiced since the 19th century in two buildings.

We offer several holiday homes of different sizes, with sauna, toilet, shower, kitchenette, dishes, microwave and TV. In addition, the Retkeilymaja Hostel Kemijärvi is located in the area. There is a barbecue shed and a cafe in the courtyard area. The beach has a sandy beach. The Pyhä-Luosto nature park is 47 km away. In the winter, a snowmobile trail and an 11 km cross-country ski track run next door. The lake has free-to-use landing and splashing places. We rent rowing boats and there is a pedal boat and a small playground for children. There is also a depth map of the lake.

We sell fishing permits, sell fishing equipment for summer and winter fishing (ice-fishing), rent bicycles and snowshoes, and sell cross-country skis.

From the area, you can directly access several hiking trails of different lengths, berry picking and mushroom picking places, and in autumn, hunting areas are also nearby.

The landscape restaurant Lohiportti (350 customer seats) also operates in the area as a reservation restaurant, with a 14-person reservation sauna with fireplace rooms and meeting rooms. Family parties, meetings, tyky days, Christmas parties, themed evenings with meals can be organized at the resort.

Lohikota (maximum 25 people) is also located on the beach of Restaurant Lohiporti, which is rented for small events. The hut does not belong to the serving area.

In spring, you can spot migratory birds from the beach, and from August to spring winter, you can observe the happy flickering of the northern lights in the sky.

Activities

• For snowshoe trips, we rent snowshoes, (numbers 37 – 50) and poles, €20/person/day and €50/person for 3 days. For an additional fee, a headlamp for a night trip €5/day.
• Around Lake Pöyliöjärvi, there is an 11 km solar track that can be used freely, where you can also practice moonlight skiing safely, and there are also warm-up breaks along the track. In addition, you can go on cross-country ski trails of different lengths in the nearby area, which are also partially lit.
• Northern lights; from the resort you can directly observe the cheerful play of colors in the northern sky from August to spring-winter.
• The holiday destination is an excellent base for berry-picking and mushroom-picking trips, as well as for hunting trips in the surrounding area in autumn.
• You can go hiking directly from the holiday village via the route that runs along the lakeside landscape to the Honkalamme forest trail (10km), where there is a shooting spot. It is 48 km to Pyhä-Luosto National Park and 100 km to Oulanga National Park.
• We rent high-quality bicycles and cycling helmets with which you can explore the nearby landscapes. There is a cycling route map of the area.
• Spa Poukama is located at a distance of 1.5 km, whose versatile services and gym are open daily.
• Europe's only Snowmobile Museum is 1 km away and open by appointment.
• The Kemijärvi Homeland Museum is 800 m away and open daily during the summer months, at other times by appointment.
• Taidekeskus Puustelli 600 m away (international cell sculpture works), open during the summer months during the day, at other times by request.
• Viewpoints are Kotavaara lookout tower (15 km) and Pitkävaara (5 km), free entry, if necessary we can arrange transport for an additional fee.
• We organize reindeer farm visits for an additional fee.
